History of the Department

The Department of Management was established in 1970 when the Department of Commerce emerged as an independent Faculty. In fact, commerce was introduced as a separate area of study in the academic session of 1922-23, just immediately after the establishment of the University of Dhaka. The Department of Management is in the Business Studies Building, situated in a beautiful natural environment enriched with hundreds of green trees.

Programs

Currently Department offers four years undergraduate BBA program, one year MBA program under the current syllabus. The Department is also offering M.Phil and Ph.D and DBA degrees. Additionally, the Department is offering MBA (Evening) and Master of Professional Human Resource Management (MPHRM).

There are 30 teachers in the Department, of which 12 are Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 14 Assistant Professors and 2 lecturers.
