Department of Management has signed MoU with DCCI

The Department of Management was established on July 01, 1970. This is one of the pioneering departments under the Faculty of Business Studies. Management as a discipline deals with primarily managing diversified people in the workplace. Bangladesh is not poor in resources: it is poor in managing human resources. The progress of Bangladesh depends, to a great extent, on how well its human resources are managed. An organization must have skilled, qualified, motivated and committed workforce in order Jo survive in a competitive world. Keeping this in mind the Department of Management has launched Master of Professional Human Resource Management (MPHRM) Program to build effective HR professionals to face both local and international challenges. Bangladesh cannot speed up the desired economic growth without having adequate human/intellectual capital. The program is flexible enough to adjust the exact career goal of HR Professionals. The demand for Human Resource Management is gradually increasing due to the complexity and size of modern business/industrial organization and MPHRM graduates will make tremendous contribution to the accomplishment of the organizational goals.

Program Features:

  • 5 to 2 years program with 51 credit hours including thesis of 3 credit hours.
  • MBA graduates and professional human resource executives are eligible to get exemptions for a maximum of 4 courses in the MPHRM program.
  • All classes will be held only on Friday.
  • Industry and professional experts will be engaged to share their experiences with the students.

    Award of the MPHRM Degree

    The University of Dhaka will award the MPHRM degree to the successful students on the recommendation of the Departmental Academic Committee. Students completing tne required courses with a minimum CGPA of  2.50 will be eligible for the degree.  None will get the depree with “F” grade in any course.

    Duration of the Program

    A participant must have to complete the program within 2 years. However, in special circumstances, the maximum period for completion of the program may be extended up to 5 years.

    Credit Hours

    The MPHRM Program will be 48 credit hour program excluding a project paper/ dissertation of 03 credit hours. Every student must write a project paper weighing 3 credit hours, which shall be graded.

    Course Structure

    Students must take 16 courses to complete the program ( 16×3 credits = 48 credits) excluding the dissertation. They must take a maximum 4 courses and a minimum 2 courses per semester. The courses are:

    Two Semester System

    There will be two semesters in a year; one will begin in January and another in July.

    Admission Requirements:

    • A bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00 or second class/division.
    • A minimum of one-year work experiences is required.
    • Work experience is exempted for the members of professional bodies like DCCI, BGMEA, DU Mgt HR Professionals Network, and different associations of Management and HRM.

    Administration of the Program Fee Structure.

    Unlike the main stream programs offered by the University of Dhaka the MPHRM Program shall run solely on a self-sustaining basis based on the program fees.
    The fee structure for the MPHRM Program shall be as follows:

    Fees:
    a) Admission fees onetime non-refundable: Tk. 10,000
    b) Tuition fee/Course fee (per credit): Tk. 5,000
    c) Semester fee (per semester): Tk. 7,500
